Former Bulls scorer Jalen Rose is busy these days with life outside of basketball. He recently visited “Jimmy Kimmel Live” as part of a campaign to promote his new book, “Got to Give the People What They Want.”

One of the concepts the book discusses is “Champagning and Campaigning.” Rose says it means celebrating like you won a championship “on a Tuesday night.”

During the interview with Kimmel, Rose details a night in September of 2002 where a friend was shot in the face during a botched car robbery attempt.

Although it is good to be able to joke about a situation in which his friend ultimately recovered from, it’s quite shocking to see Kimmel make light of a situation that could have cost Rose and his friend their lives.
