The Chicago Sun-Times’ Adam L. Jahns, Patrick Finley and Mark Potash break down the fourth day of Bears training camp:

Running success

The speed and tenacity of the Bears’ first-team defense has highlighted most drills during training camp, but the offense responded Sunday at Olivet Nazarene University. During a goal-line situation, running back Jeremy Langford galloped into the end zone nearly untouched through the right side of the offensive line. Later during a two-minute drill, Langford broke free into the secondary, which also came via the right side. … No. 2 quarterback Brian Hoyer underthrew receiver Deonte Thompson, who had gotten behind cornerback Jacoby Glenn and safety Deon Bush. Hoyer’s struggles in camp are starting to mount … Bears legend Steve “Mongo” McMichael watched practice.

Chatty

Memo to fans coming to Bourbonnais: get within earshot of loquacious receivers coach Curtis Johnson, who motivates his players in ways even coach John Fox called “amusing.” He said Johnson’s player interviews at the NFL Scouting Combine are entertaining, too. … It’s only four days into camp, but the Bears don’t have a tight end who has emerged to assuage any fears about a lack of depth. Khari Lee returned from a shoulder injury Sunday, and he’ll need a good camp to settle in as the Bears’ No. 2 tight end. … For the second-straight day, fans packed the stands. The first two weekday practices were sparse at best.

Slip-sliding away

Alshon Jeffery (!) and rookie running back Jordan Howard were among a few players slipping on the shoddy turf, which included a huge divot after an entertaining wide-receiver sideline drill. … Jay Cutler completed a bomb to Jeffery (beating Kyle Fuller) and a deep ball to Eddie Royal (over Harold Jones-Quartey) on back-to-back plays in a 7-on-7 drill. … Jones-Quartey tripped up running back Jacquizz Rodgers — a no-no — and quickly apologized. … linebacker Jonathan Anderson intercepted a David Fales pass that was tipped by Howard. … Anderson broke up a pass for Senorise Perry on the next play.
