The Chicago Sun-Times’ Adam L. Jahns, Patrick Finley and Mark Potash break down the sixth day of Bears training camp:

Danny does it, again

Rookie receiver Daniel Braverman is stealing the show at Olivet Nazarene University. He highlighted another big day on Wednesday with an over-the-shoulder touchdown catch from quarterback Brian Hoyer in the corner of the end zone against veteran defensive back Sherrick McManis. Offensive linemen ran over to Braverman and picked him up in celebration. … Earlier in the day, Braverman scraped with McManis as camp remained feisty overall. … During one-on-one drills on the goal line, receiver Alshon Jeffery made a nice catch over cornerback Kyle Fuller before falling out of the corner of the end zone.

Scruggs score

Defensive lineman-turned-tight end Greg Scruggs caught a touchdown in practice — that woulda been a million-to-one shot in Week 17, when he recorded a sack. … Linebacker Danny Trevathan and quarterback Brian Hoyer came up limping after catching their cleats in the grass, but coach John Fox said the turf is fine. “You have to be ready for just about anything in this league anyway,” he said. … Another day, another large-scale shoving match: Tackle Bobby Massie and Akiem Hicks were in the middle of a skirmish that grew into 15 or 20 players, but was quickly quelled. … ESPN and NFL Network visited practice and broadcast live.

Defense shines

Defense won the day, with several pass breakups — Harold Jones-Quartey, Adrian Amos, Chris Prosinski and rookie Taveze Calhoun among them — and rookies DeAndre Houston-Carson and Deon Bush with near INTs. … Jay Cutler did throw a TD pass to TE Tony Moeaki vs. Jonathan Anderson (with Danny Trevathan out) to complete a two-minute drill. … The competition at WR still evident, with long shot Deonte Thompson, a kick-return specialist, making nice catches from David Fales and Connor Shaw. … Marquess Wilson, on the PUP list with a broken foot, looked fresh on the sidelines, no longer wearing a walking boot.
