DETROIT — White Sox ace Chris Sale will miss his scheduled start Tuesday against the Tigers in Detroit because of unspecified arm soreness, manager Robin Ventura said Monday.

Sale threw a 127 pitches, a career-high and his last outing against the Boston Red Sox at US cellular Field on Thursday.

“He’s kind of sore,” Ventura said.

“Just general soreness that he always has. Just a way to make sure he’s fine.”

Sale was receiving treatment from trainer Herm Schneider and was unavailable before the game Monday against the Tigers.

Sale missed a start last May because of soreness in his left elbow.

Andre Rienzo will likely start Tuesday.
