The NBA will announce at 4 p.m. today that Joakim Noah has been named the Defensive Player of the Year for the 2013-14 regular season, according to a Bulls source.

Noah joined Michael Jordan as the second Bulls player to earn the award, as the All-Star center averaged 11.3 points per game this year, as well as 1.51 blocks for one of the elite defensive units in the NBA.

Noah was also expected to be on the NBA’s All-Defensive Team, as well as at least get some mentions in the MVP voting.
