White Sox outfielder Avisail Garcia has suffered a a torn labrum in his left shoulder and will miss the rest season, the team announced Thursday.

Garcia, 22, will have surgery within the next week. He was injured at Colorado Wednesday attempting to make a diving catch in the sixth inning.

X-rays taken at Coors Field were negative, but an MRI this morning at Rush University Medical Center revealed the tear.

Jordan Danks has been called from AAA Charlotte to take Garcia’s place on the roster.

Garcia was batting .267 with two home runs, four RBI and six runs scored.

Danks, who hit five home runs during spring training, was 4-for-22 with a home run and four RBI in six games at Charlotte.
