A 15-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man were shot Thursday evening in the West Pullman neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 6:25 p.m. in the 12500 block of South Michigan Avenue, according to Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

The girl was sitting on her front porch and the man was “some distance away” before two gunmen approached the house and opened fire, Cooper said.

The man, a documented gang member, suffered gunshot wounds in his chest and hand, Cooper said. The girl suffered a gunshot wound to in her thigh.

Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

No suspects were in custody. Area South detectives were investigating.
