Fellowes Brands has acquired Optrix Inc., a maker of waterproof cases and accessories for iPhones.

The office products maker will add Optrix to its Body Glove division and plans to expand the line to work with a variety of smartphones. Optrix, founded in 2010, makes iPhone cases, lenses and accessories geared to action photography and video.

“We are planning to use our worldwide capabilities in marketing, logistics, and product development, as well as our distribution partners to expose the Optrix system to consumers,” said John Fellowes, CEO of Fellowes Brands.

Itasca-based Fellowes employs more than 1,200 people and has operations in 20 countries.
