A woman has been charged with stabbing a man to death during a domestic fight in the Hyde Park neighborhood early Thursday.

Damani Chenier, 23, was stabbed in the chest about 3:10 a.m. during a fight inside a residence in the 5100 block of South Hyde Park, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Chenier, of the 10000 block of South Vernon Avenue, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:05 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

Shawanda Swain, 21, who lived in the block where the stabbing occurred, was charged Friday with one count of first-degree murder, police said.

She is expected to appear in bond court Saturday.
