A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection to a shooting that wounded another teenager on Oct. 3 in the South Side Altgeld Gardens neighborhood.

Police say the boy shot a 17-year-old in the chest about 5 p.m. in the 13100 block of South Langley. He was taken in serious condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at the time, but his condition was unknown Saturday night, police said.

The 16-year-old was arrested Friday and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, police said. Court information and his name was not immediately available.
