Man shot in Hermosa

A man was shot in the Hermosa neighborhood on the Northwest Side early Sunday.

The 25-year-old was standing in an alley in the 4000 block of West Cortland about 2:30 a.m. when three people opened fire, striking him in the foot, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

He was taken to Norwegian American Hospital with a gunshot wound to the foot and his condition was stabilized, Alfaro said.

Police said the man has documented gang ties.
