(ST. CHARLES) A west suburban man who sexually assaulted a pair of sisters was sentenced to 90 years in prison Friday.

Jose Mendoza-Sosa, 46, was convicted by a jury Sept. 12 of 20 counts of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the Kane County state’s attorney office.

Mendoza-Sosa, of the 300 block of Spring Street in Aurora, committed multiple acts of sexual penetration at his home with a female relative younger than 17, a statement from prosecutors said.

The girl did not say anything until she saw her sister, who was also younger than 17, being sexually abused by Mendoza-Sosa. That girl then told her older brother, who reported Mendoza-Sosa to authorities, prosecutors said.

Mendoza-Sosa also threatened the victim’s mother in an attempt to keep her from testifying in the case, the statement said.

He was given credit for at least 790 days served in the Kane County jail, prosecutors said, adding he will likely die in jail.
