A child was critically hurt Saturday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle in the South Side Bronzeville neighborhood.

The child, whose exact age or gender wasn’t known, was struck by a vehicle about 4 p.m. in the 4900 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said.

Chicago Police did not immediately have details on the incident.

The child was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition, Langford said.
