SHARE Addison man competes on ‘The Biggest Loser’

Chicago’s in the house — OK, make that the ranch — on the 16th season of “Biggest Loser” at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The theme this season, Glory Days, brings together 20 one-time athletes. Among them is Addison resident Toma Dobrosavljevic. The 33-year-old, who was born on the Southeast Side of Chicago, started seriously thinking about changing his weight after a visit with his life insurance agent.

While his blood pressure and other health stats were fine, the agent told him that he was just a few pounds away from being uninsurable. This surprised him; he felt he was somewhat healthy despite his weight.

“That was a big wake-up call for me,” Dobrosavljevic said during a telephone call this week.

Then the agent offered a suggestion: “You should try to go on ‘The Biggest Loser,’ ’’ he told Dobrosavljevic.
