(WOOD DALE) A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday night in northwest suburban Wood Dale.

Susan M. Krueger, 68, was attempting to cross Route 83 near Royals Oak Drive about 7:25 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes, according to Wood Dale police.

Krueger, of the 500 block of Pine Tree Lane in Wood Dale, was dead at the scene, police said.

Police said there was no crosswalk or traffic control signal where Krueger crossed the street.

No charges or citations are expected to be filed.
