So much fuss has been made about Renee Zellweger’s new “look” over the past couple of days — much of it not very nice.

The actress responds to all the criticism this morning in an exclusive interview with People.com.

The 45-year-old star says in part: “I’m glad folks think I’m different. I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows. … People don’t know me [as] healthy for a while. Perhaps I look different. Who doesn’t as they get older?! Ha. But I am different. I’m happy.”
