(SEYMOUR, Ind.) A northwest suburban man was killed Wednesday morning in a motorcycle crash involving a semi in southern Indiana.

The 58-year-old Prospect Heights man was driving a gold 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on I-65 about 10:30 a.m. when the bike hit the rear of a semi stopped in construction traffic just north of Seymour, Indiana State Police said.

He was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene, State Police said. His name was being withheld Wednesday pending notification of relatives.

The 52-year-old Florida man driving the semi was not hurt, police said. The southbound lanes of I-65 were closed for several hours as crews investigated.

Seymour is about 35 miles north of Lousiville, Ky.
