A woman who died after a traffic crash Tuesday night in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side has been identified.

About 9:20 p.m. a Honda Odyssey minivan heading north on King Drive struck a Chevrolet Cobalt at the intersection of 71st Street, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 67-year-old Olivia A. Gross, of the 7000 block of South Prairie, was taken to Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 11:24 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police are searching for the the driver of the Honda. A 19-year-old man who was taken with minor injuries to Saint Bernard Hospital was initially thought to be the driver, but was a passenger in the Honda, police said.

The police Major Accidents Investigations Unit is handling the case.
