A 16-year-old boy was shot and critically wounded Saturday evening in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The boy was shot in the face about 6:45 p.m. in the 0 – 100 block of East 101st Place, said police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney, citing preliminary information.

He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Sweeney said.
