A man was shot in the head Sunday afternoon in the South Side Gage Park neighborhood.

The 19-year-old was standing in the street in the 5400 block of South Talman at 3:05 p.m. when a black vehicle with occupants drove up, police said. The man “exchanged words” with people in the vehicle before someone inside took out a gun and fired shots, police said.

The man was shot in the head and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.
