Man shot in East Side

A man was shot Monday morning in the East Side neighborhood.

The 22-year-old was walking down the street about 10:25 a.m. in the 9600 block of South Avenue M when a blue SUV drove up and someone exited the vehicle and fired shots, police said. The shooter then got back in the vehicle, which sped away.

The man was shot in the buttocks and was taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
