A man was shot and killed inside his home Wednesday afternoon in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Pierre Peters, 41, was shot in the back about 2:35 p.m. inside his home in the 0 – 100 block of North Lorel, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office

Peters was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:45 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

Two males were seen running away from the building after the shooting, police said.
