A man was shot and seriously wounded in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side late Thursday.

About 11 p.m., the 26-year-old was walking in the 3100 block of West 38th Street when a red Jeep drove past and someone inside opened fire, police said.

The man was shot in the back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
