(OAK LAWN) Federal agents shot a person in one of two vehicles that tried running them over during an undercover drug bust in southwest suburban Oak Lawn on Friday afternoon.

At 2:19 p.m., the agents from the Chicago Strike Force attempted to arrest four people in two different vehicles near the intersection of 105th Street and Cicero Avenue, according to a statement from Oak Lawn police.

Both drivers attempted to run over the agents, but they opened fire on the vehicles in self-defense, the statement said.

One suspect was shot in the arm and taken to Christ Medical Center, where he was later released into police custody, officials said.

The other three suspects led officers on a brief chase by car and then foot, but were arrested soon after, police said

The suspects’ names were not released Friday night.

The Chicago Strike Force, a task force formed in late 2012, teams suburban police with state and federal prosecutors and a number of federal agencies including the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration and the Department of Homeland Security to investigate drug trafficking.
