A 17-year-old boy was shot in the head Thursday afternoon in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The teen was in the 1700 block of West Montvale about 4:20 p.m. when he was shot, police said. Details about the shooting were not known Friday night.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.
