(HILLSIDE) Overnight lane closures are scheduled for next week on the Reagan Memorial Tollway’s interchange with the Tri-State Tollway and I-290 as crews work to replace old lights.

Starting about 10 p.m. Monday, the right lane of the ramp leading from westbound I-88 to northbound I-294 and westbound I-290 will close to accommodate workers removing existing underpass lights and installing new LED lighting, according to the Illinois Tollway.

One westbound lane of I-88 will also be closed for about a mile west of the interchange.

The lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday before the morning commute, the Tollway said. Three additional nights of closures are planned to complete the work.

A 45 mph speed limit will be in effect in the construction zone for the duration of the project, whether or not workers are present, the Tollway said.
