Man killed in Elgin shooting

(ELGIN) An Elgin man was killed Tuesday in a shooting in the northwest suburb Tuesday.

About 10 p.m., emergency officials responded to the area of Sherman Avenue and St. Charles Street and found the 20-year-old lying in a yard, Elgin police said in a statement.

Alberto Prado, of the 400 block of St. Charles Street, was taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin where he later died.
