TripAdvisor.com has released its list of the best restaurants in the United States, and topping the list is Chicago’s Alinea, the tony eatery helmed by owner/chef Grant Achatz. The website also listed the Lincoln Park restaurant as No. 5 on the list of best restaurants in the world.
Chicago was also represented on the list by Stephanie Izzard’s Girl and the Goat, which came in at No. 25.
Since its opening in 2005, the “advance ticket”-only restaurant has received international acclaim as one of best on the planet, snagging the extremely rare third star from the Michelin Guide in 2010.
Alinea topped such critically acclaimed restaurants as New York’s Eleven Madison Park (No. 2), San Francisco’s Restaurant Gary Danko (No. 3), New York’s Le Bernardin (No. 11) and The French Laundry (Yountville, Calif. No. 18).
