An unidentified male died two days after he was discovered with a gunshot wound to his head on a street in the Southwest Side Gage Park neighborhood.

The male, thought to be in his late teens, was discovered lying on the street in the 5400 block of South Talman at 9:20 p.m. Saturday, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where an examination revealed he had suffered a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.

He died Monday at Mount Sinai, according to the medical examiner’s office. As of Wednesday afternoon, he had not yet been identified.

An autopsy Wednesday found he died of a gunshot wound to the head and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and no one is in custody.
