A man was shot early Saturday while driving on I-57 on the South Side.

The 27-year-old was shot in the shoulder about 3:50 a.m. while driving northbound on I-57 between 99th and Halsted, according to Illinois State Police.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition had stabilized, state police said.

All northbound lanes of the expressway were temporarily closed to traffic between 99th and Halsted while state police investigated, but as of 6:40 a.m. lanes had been reopened, state police said.
