SHARE 1 killed, 1 wounded in shooting on Southwest Side

One man was killed and another was wounded early Saturday in a shooting on the Southwest Side.

Shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday in Ashburn, two men, both 23, were standing on the sidewalk in the 8000 block of South Fairfield when a man walked out of a gangway and opened fire, police said.

Ladarius Edwards of the 2500 block of West 79th Street was shot in the head and the right leg. He died at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park.

The other was shot in the abdomen and sufered a graze wound to the right arm but survived and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
