(WAUKEGAN) A man who was found murdered in his apartment in north suburban Waukegan a week ago was shot to death, police said.

At 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 17, a family member called police to an apartment in the 1300 block of White Oak Drive in Waukegan to report a death, according to a statement from Waukegan police.

Officers found 59-year-old Stephen G. Dadzie dead inside the apartment where he lived, police said.

Waukegan Police Cmdr. Joe Florip said Monday that Dadzie was shot to death.

No one is in custody as of Monday morning, Florip said. Anyone with information should call detectives at (847) 360-9001.

Just after 10 p.m., the man, 42, was driving in the 4500 block of South Pulaski Road when he was shot in the back of the head, Chicago police said.
About 1:15 a.m., a 31-year-old man was outside in the 1600 block of North Hamlin Avenue when he was approached by two men in a vehicle who began shooting, Chicago police said.
