Coaches never really know what will happen in a season opener, and that certainly was the case for the Romeoville and Joliet Catholic boys basketball teams Monday.

But both Spartans coach Marc Howard and Hilltoppers boss Joe Gura were pleased to see young players on their squad step up in big situations in the opening-round WJOL Tournament game at JCA.More …
