A store was discovered robbed after police found a vehicle crashed into it early Wednesday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.
About 4:15 a.m., police responded to a report of a burglar alarm at a business in the 4000 block of West Madison and found a vehicle crashed into it, police News Affairs Officer Ana Pacheco said.
Officers later determined that at least one person had fled the store with an unknown amount of shoes and jeans, Pacheco said. No one was at the scene when officers arrived, and no injuries were reported.
Surveillance video shows as many as 20 thieves were involved in the burglary.
Area North detectives are investigating.
Police said it wasn’t clear if the robbery was connected to a series of other smash-and-grab burglaries in the Chicago area over the last two months.
