Woman shot to death in Gary

(GARY, Ind.) A woman was found shot to death in Northwest Indiana early Thursday.

Kennette O’Neal, 31, was pronounced dead at 5:20 a.m. in an alley in the 1000 block of Matthews Street in Gary, Ind., after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, according to a statement from the Lake County Coroner’s office. A preliminary investigation ruled her death a homicide.

O’Neal lived in the block where she was found, authorities said.

Gary police could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday morning.
