‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ trailer hits iTunes

There has been an awakening.

Have you felt it?

The dark side . . .

And the light.

Those are the only words spoken by an unseen narrator in the 1:28 trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” released Friday morning on iTunes. The trailer is also being shown this weekend at select theaters across the country before every scheduled movie starts.

We also get brief glimpses of stormtroopers, a frantic-looking rebel and a new design on the Astro Droid. There’s a fantastic few second of three X-Wing fighters flying just inches off a body of water, snippets from a desert planet, a new Sith with a twist on the lightsaber and some fancy flying over a dune sea by the Millennium Falcon – or at least what appears to be the Falcon, albeit one with some “modifications.”

Not much to go on. And there are sure to be more detailed trailers before the December 2015 release date. But even without details, it’s still enough to get any Star Wars fan feeling strong with the Force.

And, not a glimpse of Jar-Jar.
