SHARE Man wanted in attempted kidnapping of 11-year-old

Police are looking for a man who tried to kidnap an 11-year-old girl Monday morning in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

About 8:15 a.m., a man between 20 and 30 years old approached the girl from behind in the 3700 block of West 27th Street and put his hand over her mouth and nose, police said. The girl was able to break free and run off.

The man is described as a 5-foot-10 to 6-foot Hispanic man with black hair, weighing between 170 and 180 pounds, police said. He may have acne on his face.

The man was wearing a black baseball cap, a dark-colored zip-up sweater and brown cargo pants, police said.
