United finds few friends in lifehacker poll

United Airlines didn’t find many friends when lifehacker.com polled readers about the worst airlines.

The Chicago-based carrier placed among the Top 5 as people complained about United’s customer service and the narrow seats on its planes.

The airline’s safety video, which it revamped this summer to interject some humor and maybe keep fliers’ attention, didn’t score points either.

Those of you who nominated United did so largely based on this hilarious 2011 Joan Rivers bit on the airline during an appearance on Letterman. Even so, some of you said that her jokes, while funny, were pretty spot on with your own experiences.

In addition to United, the other airlines dinged were Delta Air Lines, Frontier, Ryanair and Spirit.
