FAIRBURY – There were definitely times this season where Christine Scheibe had good reason to wonder whether her Joliet Catholic Academy girls volleyball team would be able to contend for a sectional championship.

After starting the season with a 9-12 record, even a route away from longtime nemesis St. Francis didn’t necessarily assure the Angels of their first sectional title since 2010.
