Man shot, in critical condition after West Englewood shooting

A man is in critical condition after a shooting early Saturday in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 19-year-old was shot in the abdomen about 3 a.m. in the 5800 block of South Ada, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said. The man was walking when a vehicle pulled up and someone exited and opened fire.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Greer said.

A man was found shot and wounded early Thursday near the intersection of North Clinton Street and West Washington Boulevard in the West Loop. He later died. Ald. Bill Conway says the shooting was the result of a “drug deal gone bad.”
