Bears safety Chris Conte missed practice Monday with an eye injury — though the team said he did indeed get tested for a concussion, which he passed.

Coach Marc Trestman wouldn’t get more specific about what caused Conte’s eye problem.

“Just the basic process was he was evaluated for concussion, and he was cleared, and then he had a situation with his eye,” he said. “I’m not a doctor, so there’s a situation with his eye, and we’re still trying to get some clarity with that as we move forward.”

Defensive end Cornelius Washington also missed practice with a chest injury; Chris Williams was out, too, with a lingering hamstring problem.

The following Bears players were limited: tight end Martellus Bennett (foot), wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (hamstring), cornerback Tim Jennings (groin), defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff (knee), defensive end Trevor Scott (knee) and linebacker Darryl Sharpton (hamstring).
