A teenager armed with a shotgun robbed a bank Tuesday afternoon in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
The robbery happened at 3:35 p.m. the Archer Bank branch at 6257 S. Archer Ave., according to the FBI and Chicago Police.
A teenage boy entered the bank, pulled the weapon out of a bag, approached the teller and demanded money, according to police. FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde said he was armed with a shotgun.
The suspect is described as a white boy 16-18 years old with blond hair, blue eyes, and his face concealed by a scarf, officials said.
He was wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt and black sweat pants, according to police.
He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
