Police issued a community alert Thursday warning of two recent home burglaries in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

The suspect or suspects enter apartments and houses through the basement door and take TVs, video game systems, clothing and other items, according to an alert from Area North detectives.

Burglaries took place in the 4400 block of West Maypole sometime between Nov. 29 and Dec. 2; and in the 4700 block of West Monroe about 2:40 a.m. on Dec. 4.
