In typical Stephen Colbert fashion, the comedian and TV personality has announced “the end is near” as he reveals his guests for the final four shows of “The Colbert Report.” His Comedy Central show is heading toward a Dec. 18 finale — before Colbert takes over for David Letterman on “The Late Show” on CBS next year.

Appropriately, making his final bow on that Dec. 18 finale will be “Grimmy,” the grim reaper character who has been making frequent appearances lately on “The Colbert Report.”

Also scheduled is Seth Rogen on Dec. 15 to promote his controversial film “The Interview”; Kendrick Lamar (Dec. 16), and Phil Klay, the author of “Redeployment” (Dec. 17).

Comedy Central also has scheduled a marathon of classic episodes of “The Colbert Report” from the show’s nine-year run — airing from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18.
