SHARE Police: 3 garages burglarized in South Austin

Police are cautioning West Side residents after three garages were burglarized earlier this week in the South Austin neighborhood.

At least one burglar has broken into the garages through side or overhead doors, according to a community alert from Austin District Chicago Police.

The burglaries all happened sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., the alert said. The first occurred Dec. 7 in the 100 block of South Menard, and the others on Dec. 8 in the 5400 block of West Gladys and the 5300 block of West Jackson, police said.

In one of the incidents, a car with the keys left inside was stolen, the alert said. Police don’t have a description of possible suspects.
