Green Line Service will be suspended between the South Loop and South Side this weekend for work on the new Cermak-McCormick Place station.

Green Line service between the Roosevelt and 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stations will be temporarily suspended from 2 a.m. Saturday through 4 a.m. Monday, a statement from the CTA said.

Normal service will resume prior to the Monday morning rush.

Over the weekend, free bus shuttles will take passengers between the Roosevelt and 35th stations with free transfers back into the affected station.

The suspension is needed for track and signal work in the area.

A shorter suspension is tentatively scheduled from 1:40 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. on the following weekend, Dec. 20-21, according to the CTA.
