Sporting his royal blue Lake Forest boys basketball jumpsuit, Evan Boudreaux stood in the near-silent trainer’s room behind Libertyville’s gym.

Boudreaux had just broken Lake Forest’s all-time scoring record.

His 1,497th career point, a game-icing free throw with 10 seconds left, extended the Scouts’ lead to six points. It sealed what turned out to be a 39-33 win over North Suburban Lake foe Libertyville.
