SHARE Police: Burglars breaking into businesses in Austin

Police are warning businesses in Austin of a recent string of burglaries in the West Side neighborhood.

In three recent incidents, burglars force their way into an apartment above or below a store and cut a hole in the floor or ceiling, allowing them to break into the business, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The burglaries happened in the following locations:

– in the 5500 block of West Van Buren between 11 p.m. Nov. 30 and 9 a.m. Dec. 1;

– in the 1000 block of North Cicero between 9:30 p.m. Nov. 29 and 8:25 a.m. Nov. 30; and

– in the 5400 block of West Harrison between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 10 and 9:25 a.m. Dec. 11.
