AURORA — A west suburban man who played the lottery every other day for the last three years finally hit the jackpot to the tune of $600,000 in Lucky Day Lotto.

Roger Edge of Aurora matched all five numbers—10-23-24-25-4 —on his Quick Pick ticket in the midday drawing on Nov. 13, according to the Illinois Lottery.

He bought the ticket at 7-Eleven at 2241 Eola Rd. in Aurora.

“I immediately called my wife to tell her the news. We were both shocked and so happy!” he said in a statement.

Edge, who has lived in Aurora for 27 years and is married with two sons, plans to use his winnings to pay bills and invest for retirement, but may take a vacation “somewhere warm.”

The store received a $6,000 bonus, one percent of the prize amount.
