Evanston native Jessie Mueller, who won the Tony Award earlier this year for best actress in a musical for her portrayal of Carole King in “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical,” will be honored by the Sarah Siddons Society next spring at a special event at the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire. The Sarah Siddons Awards are the longest-running honors in the history of Chicago theatre.

The April 27 fete will not only honor Jessie Mueller, but also will include a salute to her entire theatrically talented family, including parents Jill and Roger, plus Jessie’s siblings Abby, Matthew and Andrew Mueller.

On top of all that, Sarah Siddons Society’s Dominick Missimi says two other Tony winners will be on the evening’s program: Heather Headley and Deanna Dunagan. In addition, there will be some special use made of the set and lighting from the Marriott’s upcoming production of “Anything Goes.”

It should be quite the special evening — both for the Mueller family and Chicago theater lovers.
